LG Wins Awards for LCD TVs, Home Theater Systems

LG Electronics has won three awards at the prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association. The EISA jury is composed of editors from the newspapers belonging to the association. They base grading of the products on their own product testing, analysis and comparisons, and then appoints winners in each of six categories: audio, video, home cinema, photo, car electronics and mobile phones

LG won the award for “Best Affordable LCD TV 2010-2011″ for their LED LCD, LG 42LE530N, and an award for best “compact home theater system” for the LG HB45E. Yet another award was handed out for “Best Green Mobile Phone,” which went to the LG GD510 Pop.

“We are extremely pleased to have been here the EISA awards. It is particularly pleasant that we once again received this year’s prize for green phone and most affordable LCD TVs,” said LGs marketing director, “The fact that we win these awards is a testament to LG’s commitment to provide our consumers with high quality products that are designed to provide smart innovations and high performance, while they comply with our environmental strategy by reducing energy consumption.”

LG 42LE530N is a slim 1080p Full HD LED LCD TV with 100Hz TruMotion and a USB connector that allows the TV to be connected to other devices such as a laptop or external hard drive. It is also energy efficient with a lower power consumption compared to many other LCD TVs of the same size. Eisa gave this product an award because of its high quality; “the LG 42LE530N may seem like an exceptionally affordable option, especially when taking into account all the features and connections, including USB for playback of photos, music and film.”

LG HB45E (This year’s compact home theater system from 2010 to 2011) is a compact home theater system that offers high image quality and sound at an output of up to 400W. It plays both Blu-ray and DVD in 2.1 surround sound. EISA’s jury motivated the award thus: “LG sets a new standard for audio in terms of value and flexibility with its sleek and stylish system HB45E“. Note that this is a different system than the HLB54S soundbar.

EISA is an association of Europe’s 50 leading trade magazines in consumer electronics. In June each year the chief editors convene to determine which of the products they’ve tested over the past year that are worthy to receiving the coveted EISA Awards.
