PX950 – New 3D plasma TVs from LG
LG has unveiled two new 3D plasma HDTVs in the PX950 series. They will come in 50-inch and 60-inch versions called 50PX950 and 60PX950. The models are just 31 mm slim, with Internet access, THX and USB media features. Both models will be part of Infinia design philosophy, which means a discreet frameless design.

On a side note, PX950 is LG’s first 3D plasma TV. As Panasonic and Samsung have increased their focus on the 3D plasma TVs, it’s not surprising that LG now unveils their own 3D plasmas. Panasonic has the successful VT20 series on the market and Samsung has just launched two new 3D plasma TVs.
The PX950′s get a very slim design and come with LG’s proprietary NetCast Internet functionality, which provides access to services like YouTube and Picasa. DLNA is also built in. LG has also incorporated a THX image profile and a so-called Tru-black filter.
In terms of 3D, PX950 uses active shutter 3D technology, which means that you need compatible 3D shutter glasses to enjoy 3D movies games. The company has not yet confirmed whether the PX950 will be made avaliable with 3D glasses included or if you have to buy them separately. LG has mentioned that the new 50 and 60-inch TVs will cost $2500 $4200 respectively.

I love my LG TV and think it’s a great product. I get an amazing picture and the audio is wonderful. What I love most about it, is that it gives me a great picture for my Logitech Revue with Google TV. Working at DISH I have the chance to experience and learn more and more about the Google TV. Now I have the Google TV and The LG; I feel like I completed my entertainment set for my living room.
